Asbestos Air Fibre Monitoring
During and after asbestos abatement, air monitoring is performed to verify that fibre concentrations within the work zone and in adjacent areas remain within regulated limits. We use personal air pumps and area air pumps to collect samples throughout the abatement process, with samples analyzed by accredited laboratories using phase contrast microscopy (PCM) or transmission electron microscopy (TEM) depending on the regulatory requirement.
Mould Air Quality Sampling
Mould air sampling measures airborne spore concentrations and identifies the mould species present. We collect both indoor and outdoor baseline samples to allow meaningful comparison — elevated indoor spore counts relative to outdoor baseline levels indicate an active mould problem requiring remediation. Results are used to confirm the presence of mould, guide remediation scope, and verify clearance after remediation is complete.
Indoor Air Quality Assessments
For properties with general indoor air quality complaints — persistent odours, occupant health complaints, or suspected contamination — we conduct comprehensive IAQ assessments that may include testing for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, humidity, and particulate matter in addition to biological contaminants.
Clearance Air Testing
Following asbestos or mould abatement, independent clearance air testing confirms that the remediation was successful and the area is safe for re-occupancy. Our clearance reports are accepted by Alberta OHS, property insurers, and property managers as documentation that work was completed to standard.
Abatement Progress Monitoring
For large-scale or high-risk abatement projects, continuous air monitoring throughout the abatement process provides real-time confirmation that containment systems are functioning properly and fibre release is not occurring in adjacent occupied areas.
